The People’s Democratic Party, Osun State Chapter held her gubernatorial primaries at the G.M.T Hotel, Osogbo yesterday which was well attended by party loyalists, delegates and members of PDP across the nooks and crannies of Osun State. Party chieftains, ward executives and local government party leaders graced the occasion as party delegates gathered to pick their choice of candidate to bear the flag bearer of the party at the September 22, 2018 gubernatorial election in the state of Osun.
It was reliably gathered that three candidates participated in the primary after Hon. Adejare Bello stepped down in the early hours of the Primary based on advice and appeal by party leaders. Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Alhaji Fatai Akinade Akinbade were only candidates who participated in the PDP primaries after other candidates have stepped down for peace to reign in the party as reasonable gathered.
OLUWOLE OKE, SOJI ADAGUNODO AND DIRAN ODEYEMI were the lead major factors supporting Akin Ogunbiyi and they were determined to ensure that Akin Ogunbiyi emerge.
One of our reporters at the venue of party primaries reportedly stated that the primary election was going on smoothly until suspicious moves started towards the end of the primary election. According to reports from a party leader and observer who prefers to remain anonymous stated that Adeleke supporters stormed the venue of the primary election and caused great disturbance as they noticed attempt manipulation of the election results in favour of Akin Ogunbiyi.
In reactions to this act, it was reported by our reporter who witnessed and covered the party primary that party delegates started shouting Ole(Thief), Wobia, Oleeeee at the party’s chairman, Olusoji Adagunodo, Diran Odeyemi and Oluwole Oke. They were saved from the actions of these aggrieved party delegates by uniform policemen attached to them as party delegates move
