Ibadan – Abdulwasi Musah, Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State
House of Assembly, has led 14 other lawmakers, out of the 32 members of the
House, to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Musah revealed this
while speaking at the inauguration of the interim executive for the Oyo State
chapter of the ADC by the national leadership of the party, which took place in
Ibadan on Thursday.
Out of the 15 members of
the Oyo Assembly who defected to the ADC, six were members of the ruling All
Progressives Congress (APC), including the Deputy Speaker himself
The APC members who followed the Deputy
Speaker into the ADC included Segun Olaleye, Hafeez Adeleke, Bolaji Badmus, and
two others.
Our news reporter gathered that the
remaining eight Oyo lawmakers who defected into the ADC were from the Labour
Party (LP) and Accord Party (AP).
One of the lawmakers, who spoke with our correspondent,
said: “We are working on the 16th member who will soon join us in the ADC.”
