One Year in Office: My Emergence as Governor Deepens my Faith in God, Says Oyetola

The Governor of the State of Osun, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola said he returned the glory of his victory as Governor of the State to God, as he marked a year in office.

Speaking during a special prayer session held at the Governor's House Banquet Hall organised to mark one year of his governance of the State, the Governor gave a brief reminiscence of the atmosphere that characterized the last gubernatorial election which brought him to power.

According to him, imagining the unimaginable and considering series of threats and negatively demonic predictions that he would not be Governor even by a dint of faith issued by some unscrupulous human elements from some quarters, all he could say was to thank God for his victory over all adversaries.

The Governor said: "Today, November 27, 2019 is a thanksgiving day. By this time last year, November 27, 2018, we gathered at the state stadium for swearing-in ceremony amidst uncertainties and apprehensions as some people had threatened that it would not happen.

"Some threatened that even if it remained a minute or seconds, I would not be sworn in as Governor, but God said their threats were all vanity.

"Some others threatened that even if we were sworn in, it would be so transient that we would not stay for three months before our eviction, but today, we are marking one year in office with some monumental strides recorded within this frame of time.

"My emergence as Governor of the State of Osun is a manifestation of God's will, and this has further deepened my faith in Him".

In his brief address, the Governor used his belief in God's doing to assure workers in the State that his government would not lag behind in the implementation of new salary increase, when finally enforced.

The event was well attended by prayer warriors, Islamic scholars and dignitaries including top government functionaries and prominent cabinet members of the State.
