Economy: We 'll support your govt to advance Osun economy, Jaiz bank Chairman, Abdul-Mutallab assures Gov Oyetola

The Chairman, Jaiz Bank International Plc,Dr. Umaru Abdul-Mutallab has expressed the readiness of the financial institution to partner the State of Osun government in its quest to improve the economy of the state.

He said the bank would do everything possible to support in driving the laudable policies and programmes put in place by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to fruition.

Abdul-Mutallab stated this on Monday evening during a courtesy visit on the governor, at the Government House, Osogbo.

The visit, it was gathered, was meant to inform Mr. Governor of the installation of  Abdul-Mutallab as the new Chancellor of the Fountain University, Osogbo.

Abdul-Mutallab who described Osun as an haven of economic development and the best place where business can thrive, reiterated the organisation's commitment to collaborate with the state to make it the commercial hub of the region.

He said: "We are here to pay a courtesy call to inform Mr. Governor on my installation as the new Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo which will come up tomorrow during the institution's convocation.

"We are very happy and delighted to be in Osun, a state that is known for peace, and we are happy to see the new development all around, no doubt, Osogbo is wearing a modern look befitting a commercial centre.

"We commend the governor for putting in place laudable arrangement to advance the economy of the state.

"We are assuring you of our commitment to support the state on economic development. Our presence here in Osun is to tell you that we are ready to partner the state for economic development.

"We are very appreciative of the warm reception and high level hospitality provided in spite the short notice."

Responding,  Governor Oyetola, who lauded Abdul-Mutallab for his pioneering role in Islamic Banking in Nigeria, thanked the delegation for the visit.

He expressed the readiness of the administration to seize the opportunity being thrown at it by the management of Jaiz Bank.

The governor further noted that the administration’s 10-year Development Plan rests on four developmental pillars which include Economic Development, Infrastructural Development, Human Capital Development, and Security, and Environmental Sustainability.

The governor also said Osun is a risk ready state with an appetite for enterprise, assuring investors that their businesses are safe in the state.
