Osun govt warns herdsmen against open grazing
The State Government of Osun has warned herdsmen not to extend grazing to any farm settlement within the State to prevent any possible occurrence of crisis.
Mr Adebayo Adewole, the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, who gave the warning during a meeting with representatives of Iwo farm settlements and other stakeholders in his office added that necessary memos would be raised for the restriction of open grazing around farm settlements in Osun.
IGR: Osun generates N14.5b in 2019
The Internally Generated Revenue for the State or Osun rose from N7.5 billion in 2018 to N14.15 billion between January and September 2019, representing 88% increase.
This was contained in the latest IGR data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). According to the report Osun, Zamfara and Ekiti recorded biggest growth in IGR in 2019.
This is a manifestation of the IGR reforms carried out by the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
Oyetola reverses demotion of LG workers
Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Wednesday assured that the State government would review cases of local government workers who were recently demoted for embarking on further studies without approval.
The Governor who gave the assurance at a meeting with the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the State held at the Local Government Service Commission, Osogbo, said the demotion of the affected workers would be reversed.
He thanked officials and members of NULGE in the State for their support for his administration and pledged his government's continued commitment to workers' welfare, particularly ensuring prompt payment of their salaries and entitlements.

The Osun State Government has commiserated with the family of Mr. Adebayo Mukaila Dele, a corps member that was robbed and killed by suspected armed robbers on Tuesday in Osogbo, the state capital.
A State government delegation, led by the Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Hon. Olayemi Azeez Lawal, on Thursday, visited the parents of the deceased to commiserate with them.
The State government charged security operatives to unravel the killers and bring them to justice.
