Osun 2022: Plot to destabilise Osun PDP hatched in Dubai

Fresh facts emerged last night that the much celebrated trip to Dubai by some faction of Osun PDP to attend the wedding of the Son of Billonaire, Dr Deji Adeleke was actually a cover to hold a high wired political meeting on how to hijack the PDP structure. Our source who pleaded not to be named explained that the meeting covered many grounds including the return of former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola to PDP, the removal of the State Chairman, Hon Soji Adagunodo and the weakening of the political influence of Dr Akin Ogunbiyi in the State.

The meeting had in attendance over 35 key political allies of the Adeleke family including Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa Asejere, Akogun Lere Oyewumi, Alhaji Star, Alhaji Fatai Diekola, Hon Ebenezer Adeniji, Hon Fafa Abiodun Ojo, Hon Sunday Bisi

The return of former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola to the PDP was said to have unsettled the Adelekes as he will become the leader of the party in the State. Dr Bayo Kuforiji allayed their fears and assured them that the former Governor will not rock the boat. One of the them pointed out the counterproductive strategy of welcoming decampees into the party while otracising some old member. He affirmed that such disposition could do more harm than good.

The removal of Hon Soji Adagunodo was hotly debated and their was sharp division among the gladiators. Those opposed to the removal of Hon Soji Adagungo felt his exit could further polarise the party but Dr Deji Adeleke insisted that he does not want to have anything to do with him and he assured them that the panel members have been "settled" to do the needful. Based on the hard stand of " Chairman " as he is fondly called, it was resolved that a parallel exco should be formed to be headed by Dr Bayo Kuforiji despite the dissenting voices. The decision did not go down well with majority of the people at the meeting.

The candidature of Senator Ademola Adeleke for the 2023 Gubernatorial elections was discussed and they opined that his chance at the general elections was brighter with the coming of SDP & ADC into the party provided they are able to hijack the party structure to ensure that he emerges as the consensus candidate of the party. The option of fielding Dele Adeleke was completely disregarded as non viable.

According to our source a key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of Dr Bayo Faforiji to the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus and former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki.

The last issue on the agenda was how to use money at the grassroots to weaken the political influence of Dr Akin Ogunbiyi whom they perceive as an obstacle to the plans.

The wedding guests were all mandated start work in earnest upon their return back home.
