Covid-19 : Osun First Lady distributes Palliative to the Vulnerable

President of the IleriOluwa Development Initiative and the First lady State of Osun, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola today continued the campaign against open defecation which commenced last year.  The campaign today was a door-to-door enlightenment and mobilization visit to Awo township in the Egbedore Local Government, Osun West.

The campaign was triggered in view of the need to sensitize the people to embrace good hygiene and sanitation following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the state.

She also used the campaign to distribute palliative items to households in the town. Mrs. Oyetola had carried out a similar campaign in Imesi Ile,  Obokun Local Government on Tuesday.

Mrs. Oyetola was joined by volunteers in the campaign to enable a total coverage of the town.

Speaking with the traditional ruler of Awo town, Oba Musa Olatunbosun,  the WASH Ambassador solicited the support of the king to help impress it on the chiefs to ensure that each household has a toilet. She pointed out that open defecation is a window of infectious diseases and that people must use the opportunity of COVID 19 outbreak to stop it. She was supported by Environmental Health Officers in the state.
