In a congratulatory statement to the DG, a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the State Capital, Oba Olabomi described Amitolu appointment as a round peg in round hole.
According to Oba Olabunmi, "Your recent appointment by the executive Governor, State of Osun, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, as the Director General of the state Security outfit, code named Amotekun, is a matter of joy for me."
"I, member of the Royal Household Chiefs, sons and daughters of Iragbijiland felicitate with you on your well deserved appointment. Infact, your appointment which is long expected is a round peg in round hole."
"By this appointment, you are, no doubt, expected to deplore your God given potentialities to make us all proud. I like to let you know that by your pedigree,there is high expectation of superlative performance as the security czar of Amotekun, State of Osun."

In another congratulatory statement, from the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Osogbo Local Government Branch, under the leadership of Comrade Olatunji P.A, copy which was made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the Association described Amitolu's appointment as a unique one.
According to them, "We rejoice and felicitate with you on behalf of Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT Osogbo Municipal and all the teachers in Osogbo, on your unique appointment as the Director General of Osun Amotekun Corps."
"Indeed, your appointment to this great position is really a pointer to the great work you have rendered our community as a dogged fighter, unassuming advocate of the masses and astute human rights activist per excellence."
"As a man of courage and valour, openness, uniqueness and transparency in our community, the entire state of Osun will definitely tap from the fountain of your wisdom".
"We pray for Allah's protection on you and the AMOTEKUN Corps, which is under your watch." the association noted.
In the same vein, Obokun LCDA All Progressives Congress (APC)Leaders Forum, under the leadership of Alhaji Nasiru Komolafe, also sent their congratulatory message to the newly appointed Osun Amotekun DG, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, copy which was made available to journalists in Osogbo, described his appointment as a well deserved one.
The Forum stated "We proudly identify with you on your appointment as the Director General of the Amotekun Security Corps in the State of Osun".
"We feel particularly elated of the state Government's wise choice of your person as the pioneer Director General of a novel security outfit, that has the clear objective of societal cleansing at this particular period of gross moral degeneration and pervasive criminal tendencies."
