Famodun in a statement signed by his Media Consultant, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo today stated that the appointments were made based on the convinced competent and outstanding attributes of the lucky appointees.
It would be recalled that Governor Oyetola recently appointed a foremost human rights activist who also doubles as Osun State Chairman of Police Community Relations Committee(PCRC), Comrade Amitolu Shittu and a development consultant, Mr Richard Tinubu, Director-General of the state Amotekun Corps and Bureau of Social Services(BOSS) respectively.
The other appointments made by Governor Oyetola were the recommendation to President Mohammed Buhari for the nomination of Barr Adeoye Abdurasaq Olalekan who hails from Obokun Local Government Council Area of the state as a Federal Character Commissioner and Pharmacist Oladele Semiu Gboyega who hails from Odo-otin Local Government Council Area of the state as a Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission(RMAFC) Commissioner.
The state party chairman disclosed that the governor made the appointments after due consultations with appropriate stakeholders in the party and government for proper evaluation and consideration of the new political functionaries.
He tasked the new political appointees to view their recent statuses as a genuine call for service that would be complementary to the administration of Governor Oyetola in his unrelenting efforts to distribute dividends of democracy across the nooks and crannies of the state.
Famodun enjoined the new political appointees further that what should always preoccupy their minds should be how Osun State could be made better than what it is today.
The state party chairman also reminded them that it was important to invest in the members of the party in particular and the electorate in general, adding that: "these are the segments of the society who are always there for us during elections at all the levels of government".
Famodun disclosed that it would be an absurdity and political suicide for any political appointee(s) to shun political meetings either at ward, local, senatorial, state or federal level by the reason of their appointments as such posture may have catastrophic effect in future.
In his words: "The main reason for your appointment after being convinced of your competence and suitability is principally to assist Governor Oyetola in his genuine efforts to improve the socio-economic and political fortune of the state for the overall benefit of the people.
"Now that you have realized your political goal by the way of your new appointments, you should continually be a source of inspiration and illumination for our party, the government and the people.
"On behalf of the entire APC state executive members, leaders and all the entire members of our party in this state, I am wishing you an eventful and action-packed tenure which positive impact will rob on further advancement of our state and progress of the people", the state party chairman prayed.
