Special greetings to you all. It is important to prepare yourself for a POST-COVID 19 era either in business or in your personal live.
Once again I'm 'Dare Eluyemi

"I fundamentally believe that if you are not learning new things, you stop doing great and useful things""- SATYA NADELLA, CEO MICROSOFT

I will be taking you through ""Understanding Direction of Governance and Policies in A post-Covid Phase for Personal and Corporate Advancement’’’’.
Here, we shall be discussing the possible directions of Government and what individuals should begin to do in order to beat unemployment, hardships and other scorching outcomes that often follow difficult times like we are in.

IMF has said 20 MILLION NIGERIANS MAY LOSE THEIR JOB as a result of the pandemic. Do you think we all really need to prepare ahead?
I am glad this to share this at this crucial time in our nation and the world entirely.
The pandemic is changing our orientation. This loss of innocence, or complacency, is a new way of being-in-the-world that we can expect to change our doing-in-the-world.

We know now that touching things, being with other people and breathing the air in an enclosed space can be risky.
How quickly that awareness recedes will be different for different people, but it can never vanish completely for anyone who lived through this year.

It could become second nature to recoil from shaking hands or touching our faces and we might all find we can’t stop washing our hands.

Thecomfort of being in the presence of others might be replaced by a greater comfort with absence, especially with those we don’t know intimately.
Instead of asking, “Is there a reason to do this online?” we’ll be asking, “Is there any good reason to do this in person?”—and might need to be reminded and convinced that there is.

Unfortunately, if unintendedly, those without easy access to broadband will be further disadvantaged.
The paradox of online communication will be ratcheted up: It creates more distance, yes, but also more connection, as we communicate more often with people who are physically farther and farther away—and who feel safer to us because of that distance.

No doubt, the present situation that we find ourselves through out the whole world is so critical that some factors and aspects of our economy and way of life will NATURALLY change or shift.

Some of these factors are;
1. BUSINESS REALISM: The COVID-19 pandemic has halted economic activity globally. Factories and warehouses are forced to shut down to protect their workers, while those that are essential struggle with preventing outbreaks.

Before the outbreak, it was difficult for business owners and Government to pay salaries based on the poor state of our economy. Many of these establishments embarked on mass retrenchment of workers to at least meet up with the current state of things.

We all can see what is currently in Vogue. We all are running our businesses online, banks are projecting cashless policy, Sellers and buyers based on pandemic are now meeting online.

We all are also here running an online what'sapp conference.
We are gradually moving to a period whereby large physical staff might not be needed anymore. Some Government policies will definitely change based on economic realities caused by the pandemic as many businesses that rely on Govenrment funding might have to source for alternatives.

Social intervention programmes by  Government might be affected based on economic realities. It's now going to be more of Business than Charity.

Furthermore, we might experience a worse situation after the pandemic that would affect both business owners and their various workers because Business owners would lack the economic capacity to sustain some of their workers thereby resulting to working alternatives to replacing their physical staff.

This will however add to the unemployment rate in the country. You must be prepared for this.

Are you currently wondering what you can do aside from your current work. You may want to consider starting a productive business to support your current work.

If you are one of those who work either 8hours per day or more, you may consider engaging an IT operator to handle your business for you online. As you really do not need to have a physical store or shop before you sell your products.
This will even save you from the Government Agencies monitoring physical adverts e.g sign posts and all.

Note: we are still on factors to consider (Business Realism)
This pandemic period has revealed to us all that you can transact your business from any where without even going to your shop or office or have you forgotten we are still working from home? Even with the total lock down.

No doubt some policies of Government will change. So I would advise you prepare and plan towards a worse case for your business advancement after the pandemic.

2. LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT:
What'soever Government policy that may Change or introduced to the system, your leadership and management skills and capacity would be your major saving grace.

A leader is he who seek to make change. In politics, in business or society, leaders always find themselves at the heart of change. You must be ready to make change and find a better way to do things.

Preparing for a Post-Covid 19 as a leader, you must start to consider multiple factors when solving problems that may arise at your place of work or in your various businesses.
You must search for new and better ways to solve problems that may arise after the pandemic.

Management is the process a leader uses to create a change and solve a problem. Effective management requires many different skills including PLANNING, ORGANISING, INFLUENCING AND DECIDING, with the objective of achieving an organization's goals.

PLANNING: Even if problem  arises after the pandemic, putting a plan together helps the manager identify possible challenges and provides a way to explain to other team members the nature of the project or change that they hope to bring about. It requires taking a Step-by-Step approach and requires making a fair estimate of what is required to accomplish a goal.

ORGANISING: Putting your plans together involves bringing together the right people and resources to accomplish goals. This might also include designing jobs and roles appropriately, and implementing change in order to accomplish these goals.

iii) INFLUENCING: In a situation whereby after the pandemic, your staff are no longer productive or showing some unproductive attitudes, this third skill requires a manager or business owner to get people to work together in the interest of the organization. This skill is also related to teamwork.

iv) DECIDING: This involves assessing resources and determining which courses of action to take. In any project or task, a manager faces multiple choices on who should be involved in the project, what resources are needed, and how will the different aspects of a project be paid for.

This means that rather than making a decision quickly, a manager can can practice assigning different alternatives, and methodologically weighing the alternatives before selecting an action

So let me ask you
Which of these skills do you have????
 3. TECHNOLOGY: (THIS WAS DISCUSSED AT THE LAST SESSION yesterday and talked about here today).

4. HEALTH: I'm sure before now, many of us don't take our health or the health sector seriously. Definitely, this present situation has made and his making a quite number of us see reasons why we should all attend to our health and the health sector in general.
As a youth with business orientation, you may want to consider looking at different business opportunities in the health sector later after Covid-19 pandemic. I tell you attention and funding along side encouraging Government policies will be shifted to the health sector.

: Business Support services opportunities in the health sector, you may want  to consider;

Sensitization Programmes, Branding(Note it's a company that prints names of a particular hospital on their various materials), data analysis, Maintenance , Cleaning, Fumigation, catering etc... All these are business support services and you do not need an health related certificate to carry them out.

Even As AN HEALTH WORKER, you may want to consider making use of the media for sensitization by starting a video blog or a page in discussing how people can improve on their health or even discussing the importance of your specialization to humanity. This method is also applicable to a quite number of fields.

All these I believe could help in whatever  situation that may arise after the pandemic.
Note: I said earlier that Government policies will definitely shift towards the Health Sector and more funds will be allocated to that sector. Meaning there will be Construction, supply of equipments, cleaning Jobs as a contractor, Electrical maintenance and AC maintenance and many other support services. Think in that direction too.

Post Covid requires a generation that thinks beyond the box to solve problems that may arise.

In conclusion, I urge you all to make good use of every but sensible and productive opportunity.

Thanks.
GREATNESS IS ACHIEVABLE AND WITHIN REACH:
