The Governor of the state of Osun Alh. Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola has been described as a true servant sent by God to lead the state to its promise land.
This was contained in the remarks made by the state Forum of Market Women in a meeting with the Special Adviser to Governor on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye on Friday at the Forum's Secretariat, Osogbo.
The forum through their leader, the Ijaloja General of the state, Alhaja Awawu Oyebamiji Asindemade stated that Oyetola's unique style of leadership has earned the state remarkable feat in the most critical sectors of the state's economy.
She also acknowledged Governor Oyetola's financial prudency and wealth of experience used to salvage the state during the current economic downturn affecting the entire world as occasioned by the ravaging global pandemic.
She opined that, "the developmental giant strides of Oyetola-led administration, especially on the boost recorded in the commercial activities across the state is heartwarming.
"Oyetola through his managerial adroitness, has done tremendously well, in human, capital and infrastructural developments despite the meager resources accrued to the state.
Meanwhile, the forum made their demands known to the government appealing that their support for the government should be well recognized and reciprocated accordingly.
"Our demands are before the government which have not been attended to, nonetheless our support for the government cannot be wavered for any reason.
In his reaction, the Special Adviser to Oyetola on Civic Engagement, Hon Olatunbosun Oyintiloye acknowledged the aged long relationship between the forum of the Market Women and the progressive government in the state which had been helpful not only in the commercial activities but also plenary community development.
He further admonished the forum to actively perform its duties as critical stakeholder in the governance process by propagating and promoting the well slated progressive agenda of the current administration.
"You must take active role in sensitising and reorientating the people about the government policies and programs and especially, in the area of revenue generation through tax and levies as civic responsibilities, which will enhance the state productive capacity leading to job creation, wealth creation and further boost of local economy", he said.
While responding to their demands, Oyintiloye assured them of favourable consideration from the government urging them to be more patient with the government, noting that the financial quagmire facing the state is in no small measure, threatening the efforts of the government in ensuring the desired good governance.
"As we are all aware of the paucity of funds in the state, monumental achievements have been recorded in all the key sectors which were made possible through selfless service and focused leadership of Oyetola", Oyintiloye concluded.
