Following the commissioning of the bridges constructed by the Nigerian Army in Kuta and the Nigerian Army Cottage hospital in Asamu, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, last night, hosted the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai to a dinner at the Government House, Osogbo.
The dinner was attended by top officials of the Nigerian Army, serving and retired including sons of the soil, Lt. Gen. Adeosun, former Chief of Defence Staff, Retired Lt. Gen. Alani Akinrinade, top government functionaries including the Deputy Governor, Benedict Alabi, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, SSG, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, CoS, Dr. Charles Akinola and traditional rulers, like Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarinwa.
Governor Oyetola used the opportunity to appreciate the Chief of Army Staff for his special interest in Osun, especially his contributions to the security, health and the socio-economic development of the State.
He particularly thanked him;
I. For rising to the security needs of the State last year when its peace was challenged by the raging security situation in the country.
II. For organising social media seminar for media practitioners to engender peace in August.
III. For donating a military cottage hospital to Asamu town to complement our health care agenda.
IV. For donating two bridges to Kuta Community to further enhance the socio-economic status of the people and the State.
The governor also thanked Lt. Gen. Adeosun for being a good ambassador of the State of Osun and for facilitating development projects to the State.
According to him, Osun appreciates the extant collaboration it enjoys with the Nigerian Army and will like to sustain the relationship for mutual benefits.
Governor Oyetola wished the Chief of Army Staff and his team a safe journey back to their respective destinations.
