The Road Transport Employers of Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in the state of Osun has stated that the massive construction of roads under Oyetola led administration has relieved its members of unnecessary expenses on maintenance of vehicles.
They equally, reiterated their endorsement for the second term bid of Oyetola against the backdrop of his marvelous performance in the state.
This was revealed on Wednesday by the association's Chairman, Alh. Olajire Oyebode at an engagement meeting with the Special Adviser to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye at the association's secretariat, Osogbo.
Olajire maintained that, "Oyetola's second term bid is assured as he enjoys our full support at all times because his performance in office is wonderfully amazing.
"Oyetola has sincerely delivered in the road infrastructure which is directly affecting us in a positive way as most roads are motorable bringing about reduction in the cost of maintaining our vehicles while Osun Rural Access and Mobility Project (O'RAMP) has constructed many road networks linking farmlands giving us unhindered access to the rural areas.
"The advantage which the road infrastructure availed us as drivers is that, there is an easy mobility in conveying farm produce from the farmlands to the towns and cities.
"In spite the financial quagmire facing the state, we acknowledge Oyetola's intervention in other sectors of the economy such as health, security, agriculture, education and social empowerments in addition to prompt payment of salaries and pensions, which have made the state a haven of development.
"Oyetola's giant strides in the state are not surprising for he's known to be a symbol of service to humanity".
While stating their progressive stance, they equally reaffirmed their supports for the government through adequate payment of tax and levies.
Meanwhile, they urged the government to fast track the process of establishing ultramodern car parks in the three senatorial districts for better coordination of transport system in the state.
They also appealed to the government to consider them for palliatives on needed occasions and empowerment through distribution of commercial vehicles to boost their businesses and by extension, uplift the face of transport industry in the state.
The association however, used the medium to entreat all the council chairmen across the local government areas to support them in their efforts to engender a peaceful working environment.
In his remarks, Oyintiloye commended them for their long standing commitment to the progressive government and encouraged them to further the supports for the betterment of the state.
He also appreciated them for acknowledging the giant strides of Oyetola in all the sectors and especially, in road infrastructure.
"Despite the paucity of funds in the state, Oyetola is paying salaries and pensions as at when due while other developmental projects are not left out such as massive road constructions like Alekuwodo/Akinlade, Ede-Ara-Ejigbo, Kelebe-Iragbiji, Ada-Igbajo, Famia roads among others.
"Civic engagement office is created in furtherance of the commitment of Oyetola led administration to institute a people-centred governance and to give the people an avenue to interface with the government.
"Against the backdrop of the foregoing, all your yearnings and demands will be given adequate consideration because Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is a listening leader", he added.
In the entourage of the special adviser was the Director of Grassroots and Public Enlightenment in the Ministry of Information, Mrs. Oyeboade Shaniyi, the program officer, Yeyeoge Olabisi Bolarinwa among others.
