Olaoluwa Haven for Agricultural Revatalisation - Oyetola


The Governor of Osun state, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has revealed that Olaoluwa local government area in state is an Agricultural hub capable of improving agro-economic base of the state.


This is as a result of the long standing eminence of Olaoluwa indigenes in the state farming activities.




He made this known through his Special Adviser on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye at a family meeting with the informal workers held at Olaoluwa local government area, Bodeosi, Osun state.


He maintained that "agriculture is one of the most potent sectors of the state economy with a fountain of opportunities which are derivable from our fertile land and pool of manpower.


"If we are to augment our agro-economic base, we must tap as a state into the available resources in agricultural sector inorder to make the  state an economic independent entity.


"Among the communities with giant strides in agriculture is Olaoluwa area whose people are rooted in  farming making them one of the food baskets of the state owing to their agricultural potentials" he added.


He however assured the community of more commitment of the government which will not only focus on agriculture but other areas of development needed to make life better for the entire citizenry. 


In their seperate remarks, the the Chairman of Olaoluwa local government area, Engr. Asimiyi Amobi Oyediran and his counterpart in Olaoluwa South LCDA, Hon. Adedayo Adebiyi described their area as an agarian community which could also be a point of focus for the agro-economic drive of the state.


They however appealed to the state government to support the community with massive investment in farm input, social empowerment as well as road infrastructure for easy mobilibilty of farm produce, noting that their agricultural activities will in no small measure, contribute to the economic structure of the state.


Speaking at the event, the leader of the party, Dr A.Z Solomon eulogized Oyetola's managerial prowess with which he has been giving adequate deliveries in all critical sectors despite meagre resources in the state, while he described him as a frugal leader who minimizes waste to the bearest minimum.


In their seperate remarks,  the Commissioner for Health, Dr Issamotu Rafiu, Commissioner Services (SUBEB), Hon. Amos Akindiya and former OSHA member Hon. Ajibola Akinloye commended Governor Oyetola's focused leadership which has not only benefited their community but other areas of the state while they equally appealed to the citizens to further their support for the current administration inorder to enjoy more dividends of democracy.


Also speaking at the event, the representatives of informal workers appreciated the  governor for giving them the opportunity to relate directly with the government, while making appeals to the government to consider them in construction of some roads, supply of agricultural inputs and empowerment for women and youths which will enhance the productive capacity of the state and further boost the state's revenue; and by extension, facilitates sustainable economic development in the state.


Others at the event were the Chairman  of All Progressive Congress (APC) Olaoluwa local government, Hon. Ismail Akinyooye, APC Chairman, Olaoluwa South East LCDA,  Hon. Wasiu Atanda, Director of Grassroot and Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Information, Mrs. Oyeboade Shaniyi, Deputy Director Press and Public Relation, Mr Ralph Ojo and the Program Officer Ministry of Information, Mrs Olabisi Bolarinwa among other dignitaries at the event.
