The State of Osun Commissioner For Commerce, Industry, Empowerments and Cooperative, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, has enjoined Osun citizens to see Christmas as a time of reflection and drawing nearer to God for answered prayers.
In a statement signed by him and made available to the newsmen in Osogbo, the State Capital, the Commissioner described the Lord Jesus Christ who was born on 25th of December as a man who encapsulated the true meaning of being close to God and demonstration of peace at all times.
He described Christmas as a season of love to all men of goodwill and also used the opportunity to send warm greetings of love to all citizens of Osun and Nigerians in general.
According to him, "Christians at this time should lIve in peace with their neighbours because the man we are celebrating is a man whose birth and life was peace personified.
"God that has made us to stay alive another full circle would continually keep us another full circle".
While wishing Christians in the state Merry Christmas, Engr. Ibitoye prayed that God guides our leaders on the path of humility, selflessness, fairness and kindness for the peace and development of the state and country.
He maintained that it is only peace, unity and love that will make the State of Osun to achieve its purpose and ensure that the dividends of democracy is equitably distributed.
