Prof. Odekunle laid to rest, As Osun Govt condoles with family.


The remains of Osun born professor of criminology Prof. Femi Odekunle has been laid to rest today Thursday 31st of December, 2020 in his home town in Ilesa. 


Prof. Odekunle who dead on Monday after a complication from Covid-19, until his death his was a member of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC).








The State of Osun government has described his demise huge shock, adding that his death was an immense loss to his family, Ijesa land, State of Osun and Nigeria at large, this was contained in a condolence message delivered by Mrs Funke Egbemode Commissioner For Information and Civic Orientation and Pharmacist Siji Olamiju Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health who are the representatives of Governor Gboyega Oyetola at the funeral ceremony, Governor Gboyega Oyetola described the deceased as a man of great intellect, insight and impeccable character that will be missed by all and sundry, just as he also acknowledged his commitment and contributions to the anti-corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration. 


Governor Oyetola condoled with his immediate family, Federal Government, his friends, associates and colleagues on the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), he urged residents of the state to adhere strictly to guidelines against Covid-19 pandemic.









He also prayed God Almighty to repose the soul of the deceased and grant his family and loved ones the strength to bear his demise.


The eldest son of the deceased, Mr. Muyiwa Odekunle, appreciates the love shows to them by the state government and federal government after the demise of his father, he described his father as the pillar of the family, Ijesa land, State of Osun and Nigeria at large that will be missed by all, he said his father has play his part in making life meaningful for the people of this country and that what prompted him to join the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption Corruption (PACAC) which he did before his demise.


Dignitaries at the funeral are, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde,  Prof. Olu Aina, Mrs Funke Egbemode, Pharmacist Siji Olamiju, Hon. Oluremi Omowaiye and other numerous to mention.
