State of Osun Commissioner For Home Affairs, Hon Tajudeen Eniafe Lawal, has Felicitated with the residents of Osun and Nigeria at large for being counted worthy to witness the new year, with an appeal that they should celebrate the event with moderation.
The Commissioner stated this in his New Year goodwill message issued and signed by him and made available to newsmen, in Osogbo, the state capital, today.
Lawal charged the residents of the state, Nigerians to observe the period as a time to extend hands of fellowship to the less-privileged people in the society.
He cautioned that the New Year period should not be a time for needless exhibition of riches and affluence but rather, a crucial time to touch the lives of have-nots by those who are materially endowed.
Lawal also stated that the season should be when the people of the state should continue to pray for Governor Gboyega Oyetola's administration in its glaring efforts to develop the state.
He stated further that all the inhabitants of the state irrespective of political leaning owe it a duty to constantly pray for those in the positions of authority for God's guidance in discharging their statutory responsibilities.
Lawal also implored the privileged members of the society to remember to pray for those in the hospitals for one ailment or the other during the festive period.
He also explained that there could not be a better time for the privileged members of the society to visit motherless homes and physically challenged beings in order to show them love and affection.
The state party chairman said it is by so doing that supplications of human beings can have express passage to God Almighty.
He stated further that it was his belief and conviction that God would settle the arrears of blessings of all and sundry in the New Year.
