As part of efforts to ensure transparency in the emergence of would be caretaker members, the Modakeke chapter of All Progressives in the State of Osun, yesterday, organised primary election across all ten wards of the local council development area.
Addressing the ward executives who were delegates in the shadow election, the Caretaker chairman of the party in the LCDA, Mr. Taiwo Olanlokun, urged the delegates to vote according to their conscience and ensure that qualified persons who can add value to the party and government are nominated.
He said the leadership caucus of the party in Modakeke decided to make the process transparent and all inconclusive, hence the decision to bestow the responsibility of choosing the three nominees as directed by the state working committee of the party on the wards executives.
The ward 1 to 3 held their primary at Community Grammar School, Toro road, Modakeke, ward 4- 6 held their own at St.Stephen' B grammar school while ward 7-10 was held at Ogunsua Grammar School.
Many delegates and aspirants commended the exercise for its peaceful manner.
In Modakeke ward 1, seven aspirants participated in the election, ward 2, five aspirants, ward 3, three aspirants, ward 4, five aspirants, ward 5, eight aspirants, ward 6, eight aspirants, ward 7, eight aspirants, ward 8, four aspirants, ward 9, six aspirants, ward 10, nine aspirants.
Across the ten wards, the three aspirants with highest number of votes have been shortlisted and transmitted to the state leadership of the party.
