We Remain Committed To Governor Gboyega Oyetola's Administration - Osun Women


Women in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun have pledged their support for Governor Gboyega Oyetola's second term to ensure continuity of his good works, this was disclosed on Thursday in a sensitization program organized by the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs, State of Osun, at Boripe Local government.


The Honourable Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Affairs, Barr. Olubukola Olaboopo, stated that government recognizes women as major stakeholders in politics and business, which makes the sensitization pertinent. 





She further stressed that her ministry is working and will soon flag off women empowerment schemes which will cut across all the local government  and local council development areas in the state.


"We see a need to motivate our women, to encourage them and to let them see government efforts in protecting the interests of women and uplifting them, it is an opportunity for us to let women know what programs government has lined up to impact their lives, the Governor and his wife do not joke with the well-being of women and children, hence, the gathering".


She urged them to participate in the forthcoming Party registration and to register with INEC when the time comes. 


In her welcome address, the Director Women Affairs, Mrs. Yemisi Oladele, appreciated the people of Boripe Local Government and charged them to imbibe lessons learnt in the program.


The Director, Child Development of the Ministry, Mr. Babajide Falade urged women to stop Female Genital Mutilation and discussed other gender related issues with them.


In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintinloye, advised women to have a single voice to enable them enjoy the dividends of democracy. He charged them to continue to support the administration of the Governor. 


Food palliatives were handed to the participants.

At the occasion were the members of staff of the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs, APC Boripe Chairman Prince Mufutau Omogboye, Personal Assistant to the Governor Alh.  Badiru Kazeem Akolawole, Iyalojas from Boripe North and Central, Iyalodes from Boripe North and Central, clusters of women trade groups, women leaders amongst others.
