Residents of Ada in Boripe Local Government and Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government Area have applauded Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola for the construction and rehabilitation of the road that links the two Communities.
The residents who enthusiastically welcomed the Civic Engagement team led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye to the two Communities to sample the community angle view on the level of work being done on the ongoing construction of Ada - Igbajo road.
The people of the ancient communities could not hide their joy saying this is what they have for long, been waiting for years.
Speaking with the newsmen, the Obanla of Igbajo who is also the Regent of the Town, High Chief Michael Ajibola commended the administration of Governor Oyetola for his efforts in making sure the road is given a facelift within a short period of time.
He added that the road has been in a bad shape since about twenty-six years, which has terribly affected the economy of the area, stressing that the recent rehabilitation of the road has significantly improved the economy standard of the affected communities, saying the traders and farmers are now enjoying smooth transportation of their goods to the market places.
Chief Ajibola however, charged the residents of Igbajo and Ada to make adequately maintain the road and make the best use of it.
In her reaction, Mrs Odunola Oluborode Olagungu who is also an indigene of Igbajo community lauded Governor Oyetola aggressive intervention in road infrastructure which has directly affected the environment in positive ways, especially its impact on students enrollment into a private polytechnic owned by the Igbajo community which has improved to an appreciable number.
She however promised on behalf of the entire community to give a worthy support for Governor Oyetola administration because his performance in office is marvelous and amazing.
In their separate remarks, the school principal of Ajayi Memorial High School, Ada, Mrs Olarinoye Lucia and a farmer in Ada, Evangelist Adeloye Gbenga stated that, before the rehabilitation of the road, there has been lots of accident as a result its poor condition, noting that since the road has been rehabilitated, there has not been any occurrence of accident.
Evangelist Adeloye who is a farmer emphasized that they can now transport their farm produce to the market easily even at low cost adding that there is free flow of vehicular movement in the area.
Mrs Olarinoye appealed to Government to do speed breaker on the road in front of the School to reduce over speeding of the motorists and to protect the Students from unforeseen accident.
Also speaking, one of the commercial drivers in the area, Prince Kayode Faloye appreciated the good gesture of Governor Oyetola for bringing succor to their pains of many years due to the road rehabilitation, stressing that the road has availed them as drivers, an easy mobility which has also relieved them from unnecessary expenses on maintenance of vehicles.
The residents therefore prayed for a successful tenure of the present administration while pledging their unflinching support for Governor Oyetola to be able to move Osun to a desirable hight.
Furthermore, one of the site Engineer of Peculiar Ultimate Concern, who spoke on behalf of the contractor, Engineer Adedokun Monsur explained that, Ada-Igbajo road which is about 13.1km was flagged off in September, 2020 and is to be completed latest end of February, this year.
Engineer Adedokun however assured the Government that the road will last up to 20 to 25 years noting that it is made up of quality materials.
