The Government of the State of Osun has congratulated Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala on her appointment as the Director General of World Trade Organization.
In a statement issued from the office of the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs " the appointment of the first African and female DG, WTO, is a well deserved one."
Barr. Olaboopo described the Former World Bank MD as a tenacious woman who is a distinguished personality globally.
She expressed confidence in the ability of the new WTO boss to rebuild the organization with a view to enhancing global trade and economic development.
She mentioned that Nigerian women are breaking glass ceilings and recording immeasurable feats across the world which buttresses the fact the women are no less humans.
She seized the opportunity to canvas for all inclusive participation in politics emphasising that more women should be saddled with leadership and governance responsibilities.
She appreciated the Governor of the State, Alh. Gboyega Oyetola for his commitment to the upliftment of women in the State charging women not to relent in their drive for higher heights, adding that women are special species with divine and inherent abilities.
