Osun Govt is ready to partner investors - Says Olaonipekun... As Commissioner Inspects Industry in Osogbo


The Osun State Government under the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has reteirated is readiness to partner investors and revive moribund industries operating in the State  through the provision of loan and assistance with the aim of creating jobs for the people.


This was made known  by the Honourable Commissioner For Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Empowerments, Dr Bode Olaonipekun while inspecting the operations of one of the beneficiaries of State Government Assistance, Ergo Multipurpose Company in Ido-Osun, a   company which produce, Glova Yoghurt, Table Water, Sachet Water, Carbonated drinks, Chinchin and more.


The Commissioner stated that he is pleased  seeing the Industry resucitating after a long period of time through the intervention of our amiable Governor Gboyega Oyetola with the provision of assistance to the company to operate, saying that the government has assisted many industries on moribund in securing lifeline for them through the Bank of Industry and some other financial institutions".


According to the Commissioner "the Governor is committed in assisting companies operating in the State with any assistance that can make their companies grow,  knowing that when companies are operating, there will be more employment for the youths and populace in the State".


"Sometimes in November 2019 we were given a matching order by  Mr Governor to see into  industrialization in the State, having identified particular the reason for youth unemployment, social vices, lack of job opportunity for the populace and as a result we conducted an  industrial survey where  all industrialist in the State were gathered to understand the challenges they are facing and why industry in Osun are shutting down.


"The Ministry organized an industrial training where alot of issues were raised and we realized the reason why companies cease to operate is not only financial strength but also advisory service, inadequate attention to management issue are the major and critical issue why companies were shutting down.


Dr. Olaonipekun explained that the challenges were not left in theoretical stage, the ministry went on working visit to some industries among which was Ergo Multiventure a brand owner of a Gloval product in the State getting there was devastating with the kind of equipment which has got into moribund before the emergence of Governor Gboyega Oyetola in 2018, but with the intervention of the state government, the moribund Ergo Multiventure Company have been resuscitated   into lifeline.


"Despite the long period of covid-19 pandemic lockdown and the Endsars brouhaha and we are here today, we thank God that the effort of the state government  are not in vain with the situation of things here, today out of the five production line of Ergo Multiventure, three are successfully been energized and working very well even though is not yet maximum and the other two are under calibration, it quite impressive because of the focus and determination of governor Gboyega Oyetola to see that Osun is re-industrialize again, although those who got the lifeline in a small way and utilize it very well the governor will be willing and ready to extend further assistance to ensure that this work reaches it maximum output, you can see how many people has been employed to work here and more people we be employed, the production that is coming from this company for joining list of proudly Osun product that we can so case for all world to see and for the consumption of the good people of Osun and neighboring state as we are moving our financial hub to start all this product very soon.


"The state of Osun Government is working earnestly with the bank of industry and other financial institution to reenergizing the industries that are out there".


The Commissioner also explained further that, the state has a tomato paste company along Ilesha road, Adeniran steel and wire company along Ilesha road and some other companies that are producing minimum but they are working with the Bank of Industry and other financial institution  to bring them up so as to produce in maximum capacity and put the state on the status of industrialised state.


The General Manager of Ergo Multiventure, Mr Ojo Olusegun, commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola for coming to his rescue when the company has got into moribund for almost two years.


According to him, sometimes around November 2019, the Ministry  paid a working visit to the company to get information and report back to Mr governor and  we thank God today that the visitation was not in vain.


"I want to appreciate the Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Commissioner For Commerce, Dr Bode Olaonipekun and the entire staff of  the Ministry for their contribution towards the resusication of this company, we have almost 45 people working in this company presently and it can occupied 200 staff if there is increase in  capital.


On the entourage to the company were, Coordinating Director of the Ministry, Mrs Kehinde Odediran, Director of Industry, Mr. Tajudeen Adigun among others.
