Osun Is Building A Rare Model At Dagbolu - FMITI


The Federal Minister for Trade Industry and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo has declared that the International Trade Centre, Dagbolu, a joint venture of the State Government of Osun and AKBEEB Investments as a rare lnvestment project that other States of the Federation should model.


The Minister made this declaration on Wednesday through the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Nasiru Sani Gwarzo.



The Minister said the Ministry is impressed and excited about the project which he said will have great positive multiplier effect on the economy of the State in particular and that of the Country at large- adding that it deserves every support of the Federal Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment. 


He stated further that the effort will boost employment generation in the State and the Southwestern region of the country.


In his presentation, the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Empowerment, State of Osun, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun reiterated the fact that the International Trade Center, Dagbolu is a logistics, commercial and Industrial hub that will promote trade in the south-west and beyond. 


Dr. Olaonipekun who led the ITC, Dagbolu team, also affirmed that the proposed Inland Dry Port at the Center will eventually be the solution to the Apapa gridlock. 


The strategic meeting considered the setting up of a Joint Technical Committee on the project , which would meet periodically to review investors interests as well as the blueprint for investors are adhered to.


Also in attendance were the representatives of the strategic Investors on the project, Messrs Akbeeb Investment Ltd. Barr. Akeem Olaniyan and Barr. Abeeb Salawu as well as the Director of Commerce and Investment Promotion.
