As Muslims all over the world begin this year Ramadan, a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress in the State of Osun, Hon. Kehinde Akerele has congratulated Muslims all over the world over the commencement of this year Ramadan.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement made available to newsmen today in Osogbo, the State Capital.
Akerele described Ramadan as an important pillar of Islam which Allah compulsory for the Islamic adherents.
While stressing the importance of Ramadan, the front line community leader said apart from the health benefits of the month, he said Ramadan provides an opportunity for mankind to amass many blessings of Allah and equally an important period to be closer to God more than any other month in the year.
The statement reads, "I want to congratulate Muslims all over the world on the commencement of this Ramadan"
"We give all glory to Allah for the rare privilege given to us to witness yet another Ramadan despite the challenges of the previous year as a result of the global pandemic"
"This year Ramadan has presented us an important opportunity to tap from unlimited blessings that accompany this glorious month"
"Just as Ramadan teaches, we must show genuine and sincere neighbourliness, sharing of foods, supplications to the Most High among others.
I pray to Allah to enrich us and see us through the only month and beyond, Ramadan Kareem, the statement concluded.
