THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA, (NYCN) OSUN STATE FROWNS AT UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT OF EFCC AS WELL AS THUGGERY IN THE STATE OF OSUN
We received the news of burglary by EFCC officials with a rude shock on how the officials forced themselves into a suspect's house and destroyed the wall as well as the entrance door to the house . This is not far from robbery and such must not be taken with levity. Though there are laws guiding the EFCC,they security agency should operate within the armbit of the law.
The council frowns in totality the action of some miscreant violating the peace of the state and encourage youth to be the Omoluabi we are known to be.
While, the Chairman of National Youth council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter Com. Abdulazeez Ismail Abiodun and notable Youth leaders/activist of endsars movement visited the Osun state Commissioner of Police in Osogbo it was gathered that call was put across to the zonal head of the EFCC in Ibadan and he insisted he will not release those picked to Ibadan. The head of EFCC was so puffed in his action and challenging the commissioner of police of not allowing his boys to work.
Lack of synergy among security personnel has been the order of the day in this country and we frown at the action of EFCC's boss for not handling the issue professionally .
While we appreciate the unrelenting efforts of the commissioner of police who took his time to address the protesters on two different occasions and ensured orderliness in the City, we further urge him not to relent in ensuring we have peace in the State and to ensure those men of EFCC who burgled the suspect house are disciplined .
We condemn in totality the act of criminality,internet fraudster , thuggery among other juveline delinquencies in the state.
Youths are encouraged to involve in legitimate business and not internet fraudster which the EFCC is trying to curb but in unprofessional way .The Council equally condemn thuggery by some unscrupulous element in the state and sue for peace in every nook and cranies.
We plead with the youths to allow peace reign in the State of Osun as not to affect the economy of our dear State and majorly those who survives on daily earnings.
We also appreciate the Governor for his prompt action as State government delegation has been sent to Ibadan to ensure immediate release of the arrested suspects while we beleive afterwards, legal means should be approached if the suspects are found culpable.
