The Social Democratic Party in Osun State under the Chairmanship of Dr Sola Oladeinde has celebrated June 12 democracy day in a grand style in Osogbo, the state of Osun capital. Addressing the press on the occasion. The Chairman of the party Dr Sola Oladeinde described June 12 as a symbolic in the political history of the country and a period that can never be forgotten and without SDP June 12 will not exist because it was the party that presented Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola as the presidential flagbearer and was won by Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, the election which brought all the religion and tribe together without segregation, the election that was described by the entire world as the fairest election in the entire history of Nigeria and the annulment of the election in 1993 by then military head of state General Ibrahim Babangida resulted into June 12 where people's used to remember the sacrifice made by Chief MKO Abiola.
He commended current National leadership of the party under Chairmanship of Dr Olu Agunloye for keep the flag flying, described the National Chairman as a visionary leader.
Dr Oladeinde then called on the federal government to address the problem of security to avoid total collapse of the Nation, he also described the current security challenge in Nigeria as alarming.
