Stakeholders in the politics of All Progressive Congress in Osogbo Local Government and beyond have been charged to come together to patch clear and perceived cracks within the party in the state ahead of 2022 governorship election.
The Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Dr Ajibola Basiru, gave the charge at the Eidul Kabeer get-together organized by the Osun Positive Force, OPF.
Dr Ajibola Basiru enjoined party members from the wards through local to the state level to beware of peddling rumors and spreading unfounded and unsubstantiated talks about the leaders of the party, stressing that such talks have the potential of breaking the bond that holds the party together.
"I have respect for the leadership of the party. I recognise all our leaders Chief Bisi Akande, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. I relate with them very well and seek their counsel on issues bordering on the progress of APC."
"I want to advise fifth columnists to desist from name dropping to boost personal ego. We should all come together to salvage the party in 2022 and later 2023. Our collective pride as politicians is anchored on the success of APC as the ruling party beyond 2022 and 2023."
Speaker after speakers including Prince Raheem Fefe, Alhaja Yetunde Olawuwo, Mrs Ibraheem Omokose, Mrs Bolaji Jimoh on behalf of other local Government Caretaker Chairmen in Osogbo, youth leaders and party chairmen at local and ward levels appealed to party members to come together and rally support for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in a bid to push Osun further up the ladder of development and entrench APC more in the hearts of the people.
All the speakers gave kudos to Senator Ajibola Basiru for being a good representative of the party and the people of Osun Central at the senate.
They thumbed up for him for the various infrastructure projects he has facilitated to Osun Central Senatorial District in two years.
