The Osun Amotekun Corps and Police Anti-cultism squad on Thursday 23, December were in gun duel with the cultists terrorizing oke-ayepe area of Osogbo and it's environs.
It was gathered that the gun duel ensued when the suspected cultists were on rampage in the area with dangerous weapons.
The Amotekun and Police anti-cultism squard swift into action after receiving a distress call from the residents of the area that a group of cultists were on rampage with dangerous weapons, disturbing the peace of the area.
The Amotekun personnel and police who quickly mobilized and moved to the scene and on sighting the Amotekun personnel, policemen, they engaged them in gun battle with sophisticated weapons, like double barrel gun, AK 47, Foreign pistol, Local barrel gun and other dangerous weapon, the battle which lasted for several minutes.
At the end of the battle Amotekun personnel and policemen escaped of been hit by the criminals bullets with their professionallism and experience, while the cultists escaped with various degree of gun shot injuries.
The items recovered from them include double barrel gun.
Meanwhile, the Field Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, directed that members of the gang be hunted for, while appealing to hospitals to alert Amotekun, police, if anybody with gunshot injury is seen.
