Ikoyi-ile in Isokan Local Government of Osun State on Saturday 22nd January, 2022 was agog as town leaders organized a reception program to celebrate the newly appointed indigenes of the town.
The gesture has caused excitement amongst the Ikoyi-ile people who have vowed to forever remain supportive of Oyetola administration, as they said he is the only leader who displayed justice and fairness in their affairs.
Therefore, to show appreciation to the governor, they organized a reception program to welcome the appointees to town and appreciate the governor for their appointments.
The community leader, the Asiwaju of Ikoyi-Ile and Ikoyi-Osun Community Leader, Dr Alh. Hamid Kolawole Raheem, who spoke on behalf of the people, said that they organized the program in order to familiarize the appointees with the people and appreciate the governor for the appointments of their sons and daughter, which he said are symbols of respect, humility and prosperity. He urged them not to disappoint the town, governor and the state in discharging their duties. He prayed to God to be with the governor in carryout the assignment given to him by the good people of the state. He also prayed to God to guide the appointees in discharging their duties.
"We are here to express our heartfelt appreciation for the choice of our sons and daughter, Alhaji Taofeek Falade, Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Security Matters, Alhaji Remi Azeez Akinleye, Board Commissioner civil service commission, Hon Toyin Ajagbe Member OSSCE Ilesa, Alhaja Memunat Ogunleye Board Member Ospoly Iree, Holy Quran shows that if you have God you have everything. We want to assure the governor that we will support his administration. The Ikoyi-ile people are happy that the governor has proved that is not segregating in his appointment at the state level has become real to us in the land of Ikoyi-Ile. He made it possible for what was written in the Holy Quran that Anabi Isa was born in a small village."
In the local government Chairman speech, Hon Prince Oyelami Wasiu applauded the organizer of the program, described such program as the first in the history of the town and this will boost the moral of the appointees to bring opportunities to the town, he urged the appointees to be friendly with those in government in order to bring dividends of democracy to the town. He also task them to work for the second term ambition of the governor. He then prayed to God to be with the appointees and give them sound health in discharging their duties.
In his royal advise, HRM Oba Yisau Oyetunji Otunla (Olukoyi of Ikoyi-Ile) ably represented by the Asalu of Ikoyi-Ile, Chief Akinola Abeeb, commended the governor for count the sons and daughter of the town worthy for the appointments, despite the fact it quite an age that such opportunity has come to the town, but the governor remembered them. He assured the governor that the appointees will not disappoint him, he also advised them to listen to the advise of everyone not only the political party they belong.
"I commended the governor for count the sons and daughter of the town worthy to be appointed, despite the fact it quite an age that such opportunity has happened in the town, but Oyetola has remembered us, God will always remember him, we want to tell him that whenever he need the support of anybody, Ikoyi-Ile people, born and unborn, will be there to give him support.
"We are grateful to you, Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the APC which has been preaching non segregation. That we are benefited in it today." he stated.
In their separate remarks, the former Deputy Majority Leader of Osun State House of Assembly and PDP Chieftain, Hon Olasunkanmi Adio, thanked the people, stating that it was a mark of blessing to meet good people in any town.
He described the Ikoyi-ile town as one that has good people, adding that Alhaji Taofeek Falade, Alhaji Remi Azeez Akinleye, Hon Ajagbe and Hon Memunat was one of those good people.
He congratulates the appointees for the privilege given to them to serve the state, he urged them to bring developmental projects to the town, he also advised the SSA on Security Matters, Alhaji Taofeek Falade to use the gracious opportunity to have a great impact in the town and secure the town from criminals.
The All Progressive Congress in Isokan Local South LCDA, Alhaji Waheed and his counterpart in PDP, Alhaji Raimi Adedeji.The duo commended the State Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola for Appointing, Falade, Akinleye, Ajagbe and Memunat, adding that their sterling leadership, qualities and abilities with enviable track record will help to drive the smart agenda of the Governor and accelerate development in the state.
They reposes a very great trust in the appointees, who once served in different places, saying that they has never disappointed in all the responsibilities entrusted to them.
"The appointees is men and woman of many parts, a leaders per excellence with high level of political maturity with the heart to serve in accordance with the standard the state Governor has set."
They therefore felicitates with the sons and daughter of the town on their appointments, which is a reward for hard work, loyalty and diligence to duty and testamentary of the governor's approval for their work in making Osun State a better place, affirming that the appointees who over the years has contributed to bring development to the town will excel in their new position.
They further urged the appointees to ensure that they brought to bear their glowing erudition and exciting exposure to their new assignments.
In his response on behalf of the appointees, Alhaji Remi Azeez Akinleye, appreciate God for the opportunity given to everyone to witness the occasion, he also thanked Governor Gboyega Oyetola for privilege given to sons and daughter of the town, he promised that the occasion will encourage them not to let the town down. He also appeal to the residents of the town to support them in voting the Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the second term.
The Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Security Matters, Alhaji Taofeek Falade also reaffirmed the commitment and dedication of the state government to combat crime in the state, he assured the town of his readiness to work for the progress and development of the town and state in general.
He also implored the good people of Ikoyi-Ile to be patient, insisting that Governor Gboyega Oyetola led administration will consolidate on his track record not only as the road master but a man of integrity, diligence and passion for the development of Osun State.
