The Yoruba Study Group (YSG) today honoured the field Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Comrade Amitolu Shittu with Golden Excellence Award, the award which was presented at his residence by the Executive and member of the group. Amitolu was described by the group as a pride to the state.
According to the group, "We want to appreciate and celebrate our brother and mentor, Chief Amitolu Shittu who has contributed immensely in many front towards the upliftment of Yoruba race, Nigeria and Humanity.
"Chief Amitolu Shittu connote different things to different people, To officers and men of Amotekun Corps, he is a Gallant and trusted Commander; To the Men and Women of his generation, he is a pride to Osun State people, he is an illustrious son and good ambassador to Yoruba nation, he is a strategist, To Nigeria people is an asset and to others is a celebrity.
"Ladies and gentlemen, whichever way you may perceive this man, I want to unequivocally that chief Amitolu Shittu is a distinguished achiever and a trailblazer.
In his response, the award recipient, Comrade Amitolu Shittu appreciate the group for bestowed on him the Golden Excellence Award, he promised not to relent in defending the right of the people in the society and he will continue to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state of Osun, Yoruba race and Nigeria at large.
