The Field Commander of Osun Western Security Network Agency codenamed as "Amotekun Corps" has sympathised with the Royal family of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who joined his ancestors today.
In a condolence message to the family of the deceased by the field Commander, "Amitolu described the late Alaafin of Oyo as a visionary monarch whose contributions to the development of Oyo town, the people, Yoruba land and Nigeria would remain indelible".
According to him, "prayers and fond memories are what we have to remember our dearly departed Royal Father. Alaafin's little over 52 years reign was very eventful. He kept strictly to the tradition of Yoruba land and he commanded a lot of respect for the institution of Obaship, he never in any way desecrate the institution of the monarchy of Yoruba land.
"A good heart has stopped beating, a good soul ascended to heaven. We part with our beloved Monarch in pain. May our Lord bless and comfort the entire Royal family during this time of grief".
"It is a big loss to Nigeria and a big loss in particular to Yoruba people. He strictly adhered to the tradition of Yoruba and monarchical institutions, there is no doubt that Oyo State and Yoruba land would definitely miss the royals father but he left indelible footprints on the sand of time.
Amitolu noted that no human being has ever been granted immortality, adding that every creature is bound to die, and whatever has a beginning will certainly have an end.
Said he, "if God's messenger (peace be upon him) will die, could they be granted life everlasting? Since they cannot hope to live forever, why do they not behave like ones who will inevitably taste death? Why do they not reflect and contemplate?
"Every soul shall taste death." This is the law that governs life. It has no exceptions or exemptions. The living, then, must take this into account and prepare themselves for it. This short journey on Earth is bound to come to an end, and its end is the death of every living thing.
"All shall return to God. But whatever happens to us during this trip through life, whether good or bad, is meant as a test: "We test you all with evil and good by way of trial.
"As conscientious, committed, resilient, large hearted, amiable and peace loving as the late Monarch, when death came knocking at his door at 83 years, he was powerless as he could not stop death before it snuffed life out of him".
The Field Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, therefore, extended deepest sympathies on behalf of himself, Osun Amotekun Corps to bereaved family and the people of Oyo town.
"May the soul of the departed Royal Father be at peace with our Heavenly Father. May care and love of those around the deceased family provide comfort and peace to get them through the days ahead".
