The Deputy State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress in the State of Osun, Hon Tajudeen Eniafe Lawal has congratulated the Senate Spokesperson, Senator Dr Ajibola Basiru and Hon Ajibola Famurewa, on their victory in the primary election held on 28th, May 2022.
In a congratulatory message, on Sunday, Hon Lawal said Senator Basiru and Hon Famurewa resounding victory in their primary election, saying that is an affirmation of their widely- acknowledged sterling performance in their assigned duties.
He said: "Yesterday, All Progressive Congress members in Osun Central Senatorial District and Osun East Senatorial District rose in their large numbers to exercise their democratic rights.
"They voted massively to give Senator Dr Ajibola Basiru a clear mandate to contest for a second term and given another opportunity for Hon Ajibola Famurewa to contest for the Senatorial election in 2023.
"Their decision was expressed in very unambiguous and unmistaken terms. I wholeheartedly congratulate and rejoice with duo."
Lawal said that Senator Ajibola Basiru and Hon Ajibola Famurewa victory was also an expression of confidence the teeming party members in Osun Central and Osun East had in their ability and capacity to propel the Senatorial Districts to an even greater height in no distant time.
He commended the leadership of the party for ensuring the success of the primary election and for effectively mobilizing it's members to participate fully in the electoral process.
According to him, the party members also deserve praise for not only conducting themselves in an orderly manner but for ensuring that their choices are expressed freely, fairly, and unreservedly.
He also applauded security officers for creating the environment, which enabled the primary election to be conducted peacefully.
