Four travelers were in the early hours of Sunday morning rescued by Operatives of the Osun Western Security Network Agency, along the old Ila-Orangun/Ijabe road, when their vehicle was ambushed by gunmen who shot sporadically into the air.
Confirming the incident, Amitolu Shittu, the Osun Amotekun Field Commander, stated that the incident occurred along the old Ila-Orangun/Ijabe road, when the vehicle was ambushed by gunmen who shot sporadically into the air, as the attack was being perpetrated, a passerby informed men of Osun Amotekun, which prompted them to swing into action.
"The gunmen attacked and injured four of the passengers in the early hours of Sunday but our men Arrived at the scene after we got information about the attack.
"Our men engaged the gunmen and one of them was arrested but four of the passengers had already sustained injuries," Amitolu said.
He also added that four passengers who were injured during the attack were currently receiving medical treatment.
