It has come to the notice of Osogbo Development Action Group (ODAG) that some groups of individuals are fond of the habit of launching their political missile aimed at scoring political points whenever an election is fast approaching in the State under the guise of the Oshogbo Agenda and using same to cause political the l disunity amongst the sons and daughters of the ancient city. This, we condemn in its entirety.
As a body and a nonpartisan group, we condemn a comment from a certain individual who claimed that Osogbo is ready to forgo a certain portion of its land to a particular town in the State. We want to state emphatically that Osogbo would never trade with any of her territorial rial heritages with any of her neighboring communities for any reason.
We hneighboringoliticians especially those of Osogbo extraction desist from hiding under the guise of the Osogbo Agenda to lunch their political interests. We equally advise any politician who may wish to promote his/her political party to do so without bringing the name of the town in the mud.
In the same vein, ODAG wishes to correct the insinuation from a certain quarter as contained in a rejoinder purportedly credited to a particular gubernatorial candidate in the state about a parcel of land belonging to Osoabouthe rejoinder reads thus:
*"has denied rumor making rounds that he plans to rename 'Abrumors Edeland and reclaim alleged land 'usurped' by Osogbo"*
We, at ODAG, are disappointed by the choice of words of the, said candidate claiming that he is not ready to reclaim the land "usurped" by Osogbo. We wish to state emphatically that the Osogbo never usurped any portion of land from any of her neighboring communities as the portion of land neighboring is Oke-Pupa-Osogbo, and it remains part of Osogboland till date and forever. Nothing would change this.
We, therefore, advise the candidate to seek legal ad, advice rather than ensure unguided statements capable of threatening the peace of the State, especially at this crucial period. We also store, only warn the said candidate and his co-travelers to desist from making provocative SCO-travelers forestall breakdown of law and order in the State.
