A Magistrates’ court docket in Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Thursday, remanded one Joshua Ayeni, forty-one, at the Agodi Correctional Centre over alleged defilement and impregnation of his thirteen-yr-antique stepdaughter.
The leader magistrate, Patricia Adetuyibi who did now not take the plea of the defendant, ordered his remand, pending the advice of the Oyo state Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Adetuyibi adjourned the problem until Oct. 20 for mention.
The Nigeria safety and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC ) charged the defendant with counts of defilement and impregnation.
The defendant resides at No. 7, Adeyemo format, Molete, Ibadan.
The Prosecution suggests, that Olurotimi Afe, advised the court that Ayeni, in January, defiled his stepdaughter who lived with him and his wife without the minor’s consent.
Afe alleged that the defendant additionally impregnated the thirteen-12 months-old woman.
He stated the offense contravened Sections 34 (1) and 35(1) and changed into punishable beneath Sections 34 (2) and 35 (2) of the Oyo kingdom child Rights regulation, 2006.
