The Osun State lawmaker, representing Osogbo State Constituency and Chairman of House Committee on Works and Public Transport, Hon Taofeek Olatunde Badamasi, has congratulated the paramount ruler of Osogbo, His Royal Majesty Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun (Larooye II) the Ataoja of Osogbo as this year 'Osun Osogbo Festival holds today in the palace, 'Osun Osogbo festival, a unique festival acknowledged by UNESCO, the chiefs, on that day will showers blessings on the Royal father and his family, the Arugba, Yeye Osun and a committee of priestesses, we also offer prayers for the Royal father, Development of the town and the success of the festival.
Badamasi also lauds Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun (Larooye II) the Ataoja of Osogbo for not relenting in his efforts to take Osogbo to greater heights in terms of development and other social amenities that will beautify the town.
He wishes Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olan Okun (Larooye II) more year's on the throne of his forefathers and more development in Osogbo and its environs under his watch.
He also praises the Governor of the state of Osun Mr. Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola on the provision of security to secure the people in the capital city during and after the festive period.
He enjoined the residents of the state to make peace with the traditional worshipers during the Osun Osogbo Festival and Isles Day, has there existed peace during and after Muslim celebrations, Eid-Fitri, Eid-Adha, and Christian festivity, Christmas, New Year, and Easter, they should use the kind heart in celebrating those festivals with the traditional worshipers during their stint.
He appreciates the security agencies, Amotekun Corps, Police, DSS, NSCDC, and other securities, for beefing up security in the state capital during the celebration.
He appealed to the people of Osogbo to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another without any rancor or upheaval.
