Amotekun arrests man for raping Two minors in Osun

Operatives of Amotekun in Osun State have arrested a man Yisa Adepoju (Not real name) for raping two minors in Osogbo.

He was arrested on Thursday after a tip-off by the residents of the area where he committed the act.

Yisa lured the two minors between the ages of 7 years old and 5 years old to an uncompleted building in the Akepe area of Osogbo and raped the duo.

Yisa, according to the state commander of Amotekun, Bridg. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi was arrested, following a tip-off from members of the public.

He said, "the investigation revealed that the suspect is highly notorious, he is a serial rapist.

"Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime.

"I want to thank the residents of the area, who informed us about the incident. I want to appreciate them for their support". Adewinmbi said.

The suspect has been transferred to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.

Adewinmbi reiterated the commitment of the corps to fighting criminal activities in the state.

He said Amotekun will always work with other security agencies to rid the state of criminals.

The corps commander said it is wrong to politicize criminality, saying, "efforts must be geared towards ensuring that the people are well-protected, in conjunction with other security agencies".
