Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has reacted to the recent statement attributed to the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo regarding the ongoing collation of the recently concluded election. Recall that in a lengthy letter he sent to President Muhammadu Buhari, Obasanjo asked the president to cancel the election in some states because of the widespread violence and ballot box snatching recorded during the election.
According to the former president, there is a need to cancel the election in the affected areas because tension is high across the country. Reacting to the development, Sowore stated that Obasanjo has no credibility to talk about fraudulent elections because one of the most corrupt elections in Nigeria took place during his regime.
Sowore alleged that Obasanjo laid the foundation for the shambolic election taking place in Nigeria. “Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has no credibility to talk about fraudulent elections, Ex Pres Obasanjo organised some of the most fraudulent elections during his 8-year tenure as President of Nigeria.
He laid the foundation for the shambolic elections that has become Nigeria’s lot now,” he wrote.
