The immediate past Deputy Governor of Osun State, Mr. Benedict Alabi, has allayed the fears of the electorate against insinuations of possible intimidation during the February 25 general elections.
While addressing the party members of the All Progressives Congress in ward six of the Irewole local government area of Osun State ahead of the general elections, Alabi noted that adequate security would be put in place to ensure the safety of all the electorates and further advised that voters should not come late to their polling units on election day.
He dismissed the rumours of possible election-related violence in the area and urged voters not to entertain any fear of harassment or assault from any quarter, adding that it is going to be "vote, not fight."
"I'm aware of possible violence and intimidation by the members of the opposition; you have nothing to fear; myself and others will be here; nothing will happen to anyone; adequate security will be put in place; voting is your right and no one can take it away from you."
He concluded by expressing confidence that the All Progressives Congress will record a landslide victory in the area and across the country in this coming general election.
