Amotekun arrests two young men for Cultism, House Burgling, and Stealing in Osun


Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested two young men, Sunday Sodiq Oluwasegun, 22 years old and Sodiq Adelabu 20 years old for different offenses of Burgling a house, Stealing and cult-related activities in Ila-Orangun and Osogbo metropolis.


The alleged suspects were arrested on Thursday at different locations in the state.


The suspects who specialize in House Burgling, Cultism and stealing were arrested by the operatives of Amotekun at different locations after a complaint was lodged against the activities of the suspected hoodlums, the operatives swung into action immediately and they were arrested on the spot. 


Sunday Sodiq Oluwasegun, 22 years old from Ila Orangun was arrested for house burgling, stealing of money and home equipments in Ila Orangun. 


Sodiq Adelabu, 20 years  old, a native of Osogbo, was arrested in Osogbo for cultism and stealing and he admitted to being a member of the Eiye confraternity.


Confirming the arrest to newsmen in Osogbo, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi said the suspects were arrested at different locations in the state by the operatives after a complaint was lodged at the Corps Ila-Orangun Command on Burgling of house and the Corps Olorunda Command on cult-related activities and stealing. Amotekun operatives swung into action immediately and apprehended the culprits.


"Upon investigation, the suspects confessed to committing the act and it's not their first time of burgled a house and stealing". Adewinmbi said.


The suspects has been handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
