Forum of Ex-LG Secretaries congratulates Oyetola on appointment as Minister of Marine and Blue Economy

The forum of Ex-Local Government Secretaries in Osun State 2022 has extended its warmest congratulations to the immediate past governor of Osun State Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola on his well-deserved appointment as the head of the newly created but long overdue Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

While it is a thing of pride to us and the party faithfuls that out of thousands of Nigerian citizens who are qualified for ministerial positions, you are selected and appointed as minister of Marine and Blue Economy.

This was contained in a congratulatory message made available to the newsmen in osogbo by the Chairman, Hon. Ogungbemi Idowu Sogo and the Secretary Hon. Adegbite Janet Adenike. Ogungbemi described Oyetola's appointment as a round peg in a round hole.

“The maritime industry plays a pivotal role in Nigeria’s economic development, harnessing the blue economy, contributing significantly to trade, job creation, and sustainable growth.

“As local Government Secretaries who served under the leadership of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola when he was the Governor of Osun State and served the state meritoriously, we are confident that under Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola's leadership, the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy will thrive," Sogo illustrates 

The forum also reveals the assurance of productivity and employment for the youth, boosts Nigeria's revenue, significantly reduces budget deficits, and eembracesocean ecosystem services that are not captured by the market but provide a significant contribution to economic and human activity. Exploitation, preservation, and regeneration of the marine environment, repositioning and the national economy, planning, and development of port operational infrastructure. Maritime Safety seafarers standards and security, Maritime Labour, Shipping Regulation, Promotion of Commercial Shipping and Cabotage activities, Pollution prevention and control in the marine environment.
