Cancer health issues are now rampant in society and below are foods to avoid in order not to get the disease
1. Processed and red meat. Regular consumption of processed meats such as bacon, sausages, hot dogs, and red meats such as beef and pork is associated with an increased risk of stomach cancer.
2. The nitrates and nitrites used in the processing of these meats may contribute to the formation of carcinogenic compounds in salty foods and pickles. A diet high in salt is associated with an increased risk of developing stomach cancer. Excessive salt intake can cause chronic inflammation and damage the lining of the stomach. Pickles, which often contain high levels of salt and potentially harmful preservatives, are also associated with increased risk.
3. Smoked and grilled dishes. Foods cooked at high temperatures, such as grilled or smoked, can form carcinogens such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heterocyclic amines (HCAs). These compounds can damage the stomach lining over time
4. Low-fiber foods. A diet low in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains may increase the risk of stomach cancer. These foods are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber to help maintain a healthy digestive system and protect against cancerous changes.
