Two Notorious Motorcycle Snatchers Arrested In Osun

Two notorious motorcycle snatchers who specialise in beating, drugging, and snatching motorcycles from their riders has been arrested by the local hunters attached to the residence of the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi at Aisu, Ede, Osun State.

The suspect was arrested by the local hunters on Thursday night while stealing a motorcycle at Aisu Road, Ede, Osun State, the culprit bought Roasted Meat (Suya) for the rider and drugged the rider with Roasted Meat (Suya) which made the rider slept off, and stole the motorcycle, on their way the culprits were stopped by the local hunters who recognized the owner of the motorcycle and they were asked a question on where they got the motorcycle from, while questioning the culprit, they started shivering  when they were arrested, the suspects confessed to stealing many motorcycles in the past. 

Reacting to the incident, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi applauded the local hunters for arresting the suspects who specialized in stealing motorcycles in the town.

Adewinmbi asserted that the suspects were arrested at Aisu Road by the local security attached to his residence after attacking a motorcycle rider by drugging him with Roasted Meat (Suya) and the local security detected them in the act and swung into action immediately and apprehended the felons.

"Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were a notorious and professional motorcycle snatcher within the state," Adewinmbi said.

He urged the residents of the state to be security conscious in their environment and they should not hesitate to inform the security agencies when detect unknown faces in their environment.

The suspect has been handed over to the Ede Police Division for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
