The Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi congratulated the Muslim faithful in the state on the 2024 Ramadan 1445AH fasting.
Adewinmbi in a message sent to the Muslims in the State and Nigeria at large urged Muslims and other citizens to use the fasting period to pray for the progress of Osun and the entire country as a whole.
He also enjoined the Muslim faithful to remember the country in their prayer, saying they should use the efficacy of prayer in the holy month of Ramadan for peace to reign in all the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
He assured the residents of the state of adequate security during the month of Ramadan and beyond, as he directed Amotekun operatives to be more vigilant and intensify effective community policing in the nooks and crannies of Osun State.
He asked Muslims to maintain peaceful coexistence among themselves just as he charged them to be patient while dealing with one another.
He prayed to Allah to accept Muslims’ sacrifices and increase the unity, solidarity, peace, and prosperity of Osun.
He urged them to use the period for sober reflection, self-discipline, and sacrifice.
According to him,” As we start this year Ramadan, I pray that Allah will not deny us all the benefits of the month. May He grant us more than our request during the month and thereafter.
”let me use this opportunity to appeal to all the Muslims across the state of our country, to remember our dear State and country in our prayers as we seek to overcome the challenges we are facing as a nation.
“I enjoin us to stress the importance of peace, love, generosity, and unity in our teachings during this sacred period,” he said.
“Since we do not have another country, we should always seek divine intervention for our nation and the Ramadan season provides such a unique opportunity to collectively seek the face of Allah through prayer.”
He encouraged Muslims to “concentrate their spirit, soul, and body in total submission to Allah this month and fervently pray for Nigeria”.
