Reinstate Iberia Back To Nigeria Route
APC Organising Secretary Spain 🇪🇸 Chapter Hon. Julius Fayemi, under the leadership of Amb. Stephen Adeayo Tella is calling NIGERIA 🇳🇬 Government. With collaboration with the Kingdom of Spain 🇪🇸 to find a lasting solution to Spain flag carrier IBERIA to lift the suspension on their operations to reduce stress Nigerians are going through when they are returning to their home land.
Though the National Carrier IBERIA suspended their operations from Nigeria based on dwindling passenger traffic and forex exchange scarcity on May 12, 2016, the company also stated that they are unable to repatriate their funds back to Madrid.
This tough decision has been conceded by the airline, which has caused Nigerians to live in the province of Spain 🇪🇸 to go through difficult tasks.
The first was suspended in 1993 and later returned in 2014 on a daily flight from Madrid to Lagos.
Spain is made up of 50 provinces and 17 autonomous region are they are referred to as Comunidad Autonomous, and these provinces are being populated by Nigerians and other African countries.
The merger agreement of IBERIA and British Airways from 2009 and later finalised on January 21, 2011, can be revisited to ferry Nigerians who are facing a lot of challenges when returning back to their home 🏡.
Many Nigerians citizens pass through trauma on a daily basis, l have experienced Nigerians travelling with his family of six on a yudetide boarding South Africa 🇿🇦 Airways and a journey of IBERIA that supposed to take 5 hours 30 mins direct flight ✈️ will end up in travelling to South flying through Nigeria airspace to Johannesburg on a connecting flight back to Lagos and Abuja.
IBERIA decision has caused a lot of issues and ceaseless complaints by Nigerians residing in the province of Spain because of their wider connections networks.
Moreover, in the absence of this, Air Peace Limited is a private airline founded in 2013. If any agreement of MOU is established between the Spanish and the Executive Director Mr Allen Onyema, this may reduce the stress Nigerians are going through in returning back to the country.
Following the recent release of 64.44 million dollars backlog in blocks airline funds by the Central Bank of Nigeria and National Association of Nigeria Travel Agents (NANTA) said foreign airlines have no further justification and reason to restrict inventory in the Nigeria market.
That's why air peace and other airline that have an interest in airlifting Nigerians should be encouraged.
Hike fares from Spain to Nigeria and other countries are totally unacceptable and abnormal, and this is the reason why Nigerians can travel long distances based on cheaper rates back home without taking hours of stop over and connecting flights ✈️ and hours into consideration
