The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Switzerland, Amb. Adebayo Alfonso, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Christians in Nigeria and across the globe on the occasion of Christmas.
In his Christmas message, Amb. Alfonso expressed his deep joy in celebrating this sacred time of the year, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ and brings together families, communities, and nations in the spirit of love, peace, and unity. He emphasized that Christmas is a season of reflection, gratitude, and renewal of faith, marking a pivotal moment for individuals and communities to share in acts of kindness and solidarity.
"Christmas is not only a celebration of the birth of Christ, but also a time to reflect on the values of love, peace, and hope that He embodies. It is a time to extend goodwill to others, to embrace the spirit of togetherness, and to strengthen our commitment to building a better, more compassionate world," Amb. Alfonso said.
The APC Switzerland Chairman further encouraged Christians in Nigeria and the Diaspora to take the opportunity of this festive season to renew their commitment to the betterment of their communities and the nation at large. He noted that the essence of Christmas – compassion, selflessness, and sharing – should serve as a guide for individuals to work toward a brighter future for all, regardless of background or circumstance.
Amb. Alfonso also acknowledged the resilience of Nigerians and the global Christian community, especially in times of adversity. "The Christian faith has always been a source of strength, hope, and resilience. As we celebrate this Christmas, let us honor the teachings of Christ by demonstrating love, tolerance, and kindness in all our interactions," he added.
In addition, Amb. Alfonso reaffirmed his dedication to supporting the aspirations of the Nigerian people, both in the homeland and abroad. As an active member of the APC, he continues to work towards strengthening the party's presence internationally and ensuring that the interests of Nigerians abroad are well represented.
He also called on Nigerians, especially in the Diaspora, to continue contributing positively to the development of their respective communities, as well as supporting efforts aimed at advancing peace and progress in Nigeria.
Amb. Alfonso concluded by wishing all Christians a blessed and joyous Christmas, encouraging them to celebrate in peace, safety, and unity with their loved ones.
