Nigerian comedian and skit maker Raji Samad Adetola, widely known as Sanku Comedy (also stylized as “Mrsankucomedy”), has tragically passed away in a fatal road accident on Monday, September 1, 2025.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025, on the Oyo–Ogbomoso road in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Witnesses and firsthand accounts described a high-impact crash where the vehicle — reported to be a white Lexus SUV — veered off the road and ended up in a ditch or flooded area.
Multiple passengers were onboard; unfortunately, several sources confirm that Sanku and at least one other person succumbed to their injuries.
It was confirmed by Idealplusgist from a reliable source that he will buried according to islamic rite at Owo-Eba Cemetery along Ilesa road, Osogbo by 4pm on Tuesday.
Immediate Reactions & Social Media Ripple
Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa shared her grief on Instagram, expressing heartbreak and disbelief, especially since a film featuring Sanku hadn’t even been released yet:
> “The pain, the effort, the strength, the struggle… Walai, nothing makes sense. I’m heartbroken…”
Content creator Jidex Klothing confirmed Sanku’s death in a very emotional TikTok video, reflecting on the fragility of life — someone who left home in good health, gone in an instant.
A gripping video shared widely on TikTok shows the wrecked car in a flooded spot, with a towing van operator describing how everyone in the car—including Sanku—did not survive.
One of Sanku's last videos, posted just hours before the accident, included a haunting caption:
> “When it is time for us to enjoy what we worked hard for, may we never lose our lives.”
This has sparked emotional reactions from followers who found the message eerily prophetic.
Even more unsettling: a resurfaced clip shows Sanku surviving a near-accident two weeks prior in the same vehicle. The caption read:
> _“This was us escaping accident 2 weeks ago.”_
