The Osun State chapter of the Integrity Group of Nigeria has issued a strong warning to all the leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, emphasizing that only genuine unity, peace and co-operation can guarantee the party’s success in the 2026 governorship election and the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
In a statement made available to journalists in Osogbo on Monday, the State Chairman of the Integrity Group, Comrade Salam Mustapha, appealled to Engr. Sola Akinwumi, Chairman of Agba Osun Group; Chief Bisi Akande, former Interim National Chairman of the APC; Hon. Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola and the State APC Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, to urgently convene a peace meeting among all the governorship aspirants, elders, and stakeholders.
Comrade Mustapha emphasized that unity is not a choice but a necessity if the party truly intends to reclaim Osun State from what he described as “an administration that has nothing meaningful to show for the past three years.” He warned that internal division remains the greatest threat to APC’s chances in 2026, stating that “disunity could make the next election an uphill battle.”
It’s time for us to come together, think together and act together as one strong progressive family. Our mission is to restore purposeful leadership and return Osun to the path of development. The opposition thrives when we are divided, but we can only achieve victory through unity and collective action,” Mustapha said.
He further explained that the group's forthcoming Southwest Integrity Summit 2025, scheduled to hold in Osun State on November 17, 2025, was deliberately designed to promote dialogue among progressive leaders across the Southwest. The summit, he noted, will serve as a platform for policy discussions, leadership development and political co-operation among the region’s stakeholders.
It is important for all APC stakeholders, elders and leaders to dialogue and find a common ground for the progress of the party. That conviction is what inspired the Integrity Group to host the Southwest Integrity Summit 2025 in Osun State, to encourage unity, political maturity, and progressive synergy,” Mustapha added.
He reaffirmed that the future success of the party depends on the willingness of its leaders to put aside personal ambitions and focus on the collective interest of the progressives.
There’s success in our unity. We must bury our differences and face the common goal of returning progressive governance to Osun State. The people are watching and counting on us. The 2026 election will be a test of our resolve and only a united APC can win that battle,” Mustapha concluded.
