A survivor of the recent church attack in Kwara has shared a harrowing account of the tragedy, revealing how many congregants were abducted.
Earlier, GistReel reported that tragedy struck on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, when gunmen stormed the Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State .
According to unconfirmed reports, three people were killed in the church raid.
Eyewitness Shares Account Of Kwara Church Attack
In an interview with BBC News, the elderly survivor shared that as soon as the gunmen opened fire, the congregants began to flee.
According to him, the church security officer was attacked and the gunmen ordered the congregants to lie on the floor.
The elderly survivor disclosed that 30 congregants were abducted by the gunmen, and the abductors are yet to reach out.
Meanwhile, a Nigerian farmer took to social media to lament the abduction of her cousin in the Kwara church attack.
In a Facebook post that has left social media buzzing, the female farmer disclosed that her cousin was abducted along with her baby.
Additionally, the Kwara State government has shut schools in five districts to prevent further attacks, and President Bola Tinubu postponed foreign trips to focus on security briefings.
Additionally , the U.S. has redesignated Nigeria as a ‘Country of Particular Concern’.
