In a renewed push to promote a circular economy and stimulate sustainable growth, the Executive Director of Marine and Operations at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Engr. Olalekan Badmus (Omo Olore), on Saturday, November 22, 2025, empowered over two hundred petty traders, aged women, widows, and other vulnerable residents of Osogbo.
The empowerment programme, tagged “Ileri Oluwa Empowerment Scheme,” now in its fifth edition, was held at the IleriOluwa Campaign Office, Osogbo. The event attracted thousands of party faithful, community leaders, and stakeholders who turned out to witness yet another impactful outreach.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Programme, Baba Fefe explained that the initiative was conceived to support women, petty traders, and start-ups within Osogbo Federal Constituency. He noted that over 1,500 women have so far benefitted from the scheme since its inception.
For this edition, 200 beneficiaries were carefully selected, each receiving ₦40,000 cash support to boost or expand their businesses.
Speaking at the event, Engr. Badmus, the initiator and sole sponsor of the initiative, reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of the people and ensuring they continually enjoy the dividends of democracy. He further emphasized that greater opportunities and more transformative programmes would be facilitated for the people if the APC is returned to power in the 2026 gubernatorial election.

The beneficiaries expressed heartfelt appreciation to Engr. Badmus, describing him as a selfless and compassionate leader who consistently prioritizes the well-being of his people. They offered prayers for God to strengthen and enable him to continue his good works.
